Lower School Field Highlights Campus Upgrades Ahead of 2023-2024 School Year

The new Lower School field was one of several projects that took place during the busy summer months.
It didn’t take long for students to warm up to the new Lower School field, one of several campus enhancements that took place over the summer.

By the end of the first day of school, the new field had hosted many students as they played football, soccer and even practiced gymnastics and other activities on the field. The new play area features FieldTurf and the division’s Scottie Dog mascot in the midfield circle.

The Lower School field is located between Campaigne Center and the LS playground and the new turf will allow for year-round play for Lower School students.

It was one of several projects that took place during the busy summer months. Also completed:

Chalmers Field Bleachers: The concrete bleacher seating overlooking Chalmers Field were upgraded with additional safety railings, and the concrete was covered with an outdoor tile to enhance the appearance.

Pasternack Field House Parking Lot: The parking lot outside Pasternack Field House was resurfaced with a red asphalt coating, similar to the Upper School student parking lot. The red epoxy coating offers added protection to the asphalt and features a reflective additive that cools the parking lot on warmer days.

Upper School Courtyard Landscaping: In an effort to continue preserving water year-round, St. Margaret’s added drought-tolerant landscaping to the Upper School Courtyard this summer.

Other enhancements include solar lighting in the sophomore parking lot and the relocation of the stage in the Early School Outdoor Classroom.
