Parent Up Speaker Series Welcomes Jennifer Wallace to Discuss Topic of Mattering
Mrs. Wallace spoke as part of the Parent Up Speaker Series, a parent-education initiative by the PTF in collaboration with school leaders.
The Parent Teacher Fellowship welcomed author, speaker and journalist Jennifer Wallace to St. Margaret’s last week as part of the PTF Parent Up Speaker Series.
Mrs. Wallace is the author of New York Times bestseller Mattering: The Secret to a Life of Deep Connection and Purpose, as well as Never Enough: When Achievement Culture Becomes Toxic—and What We Can Do About It. Her presentation to St. Margaret’s parent community touched on both topics, as Mrs. Wallace weaved compelling stories with important research to provide meaningful insight on the social and emotional challenges that students and families face.
Her presentation was followed by a Q&A moderated by Patrick Bendzick, St. Margaret’s assistant head of school for health and wellness, where Mrs. Wallace took questions from the audience in Hurlbut Theater on the topic of mattering and other social issues among children and teens.
Mrs. Wallace’s visit to St. Margaret’s comes after several high-profile media appearances, including a segment on NBC’s Today and a conversation with Oprah Winfrey on The Oprah Podcast in January.
The PTF Parent Up Speaker Series is a parent-education initiative by the PTF in collaboration with school leaders. The PTF would like to thank Parent Up Speaker Series Liaison Anastassia Steele, assistant Heather Nykolaychuk and the entire Parent Up committee.
