Tartan Track & Field Performs Well at Irvine Invitational
St. Margaret's posted impressive results this past Friday.
St. Margaret's track & field program competed at the Irvine Invitational this past Friday and delivered several highlight performances.
Ocean Heim set a school record in the triple jump, winning the event for the Tartans with a 42'5" mark to seal the gold. Heim proceeded to jump to a second-place finish in the long jump, securing crucial points for St. Margaret's.
On the track, the boys 4x400 team edged out Yorba Linda High School by 0.26, winning the race with a time of 3:30.26. The mark ranks the squad of Lucas Monge, Charles Martin, Cameron White and Zaiden Gurusamy as the No. 6-fastest time in school history in that event. The points helped the boys team to a 4th overall finish on the day.
Lia Frick won the girls varsity pole vault event, setting a personal record by increasing her mark by 2 inches to help the girls finish 3rd overall at the invitational.
The Tartans will next compete at the Meet of Champs at Arroyo High School on Saturday, March 21.
