St. Margaret's Girls Lacrosse Coasts to 14-2 Win Against Esperanza

A total team effort kept the Tartans in control all evening.
The Tartan girls lacrosse program recorded its first win of the 2026 campaign, beating Esperanza High School 14-2 on the road Thursday.
 
Abby Chez had an impressive start for the Tartans, tallying 5 goals in the one-sided win. Izzy Samluk kept St. Margaret's in control of the ball, winning 9 draws and picking up 9 ground balls. Samluk also contributed a goal to the offensive effort.
 
Defensively, Lauren Driver notched 3 caused turnovers, 3 ground balls, 8 draws won, while also adding 2 goals. Goaltender Avery Lind made short work of the Aztec attack, turning away 4 shots.
 
Natalie Killer (3g), Emma Hoback (2g), Gigi Gallegos (1g), Ani Alyanakian (1g) and Ella Djavaherian (1a) all got on the scoresheet for the Tartans.
 
St. Margaret's (1-1) will next face off against Los Angeles area foe Palos Verdes on Tartan Field Saturday at 1 p.m.
