St. Margaret's Baseball Picks Up 5-3 Win Over Whittier Christian
The Tartans relied on a strong pitching game to down the Heralds.
St. Margaret's baseball team picked up its first win of the season, defeating Whittier Christian 5-3 on the road Saturday morning.
The Tartan pitching staff was a bright spot for St. Margaret's, with Charlie Allen giving up no runs and just two hits over 4 2/3 innings, while Jake Wilson kept the Heralds guessing, allowing one hit and an earned run over 2 1/3 innings. Wilson also contributed two hits to the Tartans' offensive effort.
Offensively, St. Margaret's starting 9 each recorded at least one hit, with Patrick Bunnin and Jake Kleinhanzl each notching two hits.
The Tartans will next face Victor Valley at San Juan Sports Park on Thursday, March 5.
