Tartan Girls Volleyball Moves on in CIF Playoffs With 3-1 Win

St. Margaret's survived a hot El Dorado squad Saturday.
St. Margaret's girls volleyball program moved on to the CIF-SS Div. III Quarterfinals, defeating El Dorado 3-1 at home on Saturday.

Despite losing the first set 19-25, the Tartans rallied with steady offense and exceptional defense, denying the Hawks any momentum (25-17, 25-15, 25-13). St. Margaret's relied again on exceptional team serving with 16 aces and only two errors on 92 attempts for a 98% efficiency. The consistent service pressure stymied the El Doroado attack.

Ella Massoudi notched 20 kills with only 4 errors and an efficiency of .333, while Sami Duran added 13 kills and hit .400 on the night. Chloe Wainwright and Arianne Bruckner added 5 and 4 kills, respectively. Sarah MacDonald led a solid floor defense with 10 digs.

The Tartans will travel to face Saugus High School in the quarterfinal round on Wednesday, Oct. 29.
