Lower School Gathers for Time-Honored Lessons and Carols Service

The Lower School marked its 47th Christmas celebration of Lessons and Carols with services held this week.
Lessons and Carols is one of St. Margaret’s oldest traditions started in the school’s first year in December 1979. The Lower School marked its 47th Christmas celebration of Lessons and Carols with services held Tuesday and Thursday in the Chapel.

First introduced in December 1979 during St. Margaret’s inaugural year, Lessons and Carols is one of the school’s most cherished traditions, created as a way for students, families, and the St. Margaret’s community to join together in celebrating the Christmas story through scripture and song.

The Chapel resonated with beloved hymns including O Come, O Come Emmanuel, O Little Town of Bethlehem, and O Come, All Ye Faithful. The service featured Bible readings, traditional carols, and beautifully performed musical selections that captured the spirit of the season.
