Upper School Student Named to California All-State Band

St. Margaret’s Upper School student Gloria Zhou, who plays the flute, was selected for the All-State Symphonic Band for the third consecutive year.

The California All-State Band is a statewide honor ensemble for middle and high school musicians selected through a highly competitive online audition process. Students submit recorded performances that are judged on both technical skill and musicality, and thousands of students audition each year for a limited number of spots. Most students who are selected begin preparing months in advance.

Selected musicians get to perform at the California All-State Music Education Conference (CASMEC) in Fresno, and students can also audition for orchestras and other ensemble levels.
