At St. Margaret's Episcopal School, we believe that everyone is on an artistic journey. Through experiences in the visual arts, music, dance, theater and technical arts, students discover and nurture the artists within.
As an extension of the classroom, our athletic teams are committed to remaining at the forefront of innovation and progressive leadership so that our student-athletes may achieve at the highest possible level.
At St. Margaret’s, students are encouraged to explore their own interests in this vibrant, close-knit community, and Tartans seek opportunities for growth in athletics, the arts, service learning, leadership and more.
Grade 3 Students Lead Tartan Participation in FAM Hunger Walk
The spirit of community and service was on full display this weekend as grade 3 students shared the mission behind the annual FAM Walk.
The spirit of community and service was on full display this weekend as grade 3 students shared the mission behind the annual FAM Walk. From speaking at the Upper School Convocation and Middle School Chapel to appearing in the Lower School’s Monday video, the young Tartans showcased a purpose in spreading awareness about the walk and the vital partnership between St. Margaret’s and Family Assistance Ministries (FAM).
In preparation for the event, the students had the opportunity to hear from Cass Ondryas, the FAM Walk chair and a former St. Margaret’s parent, who spoke passionately about FAM’s mission and the meaningful impact on preventing hunger in the lives of those most vulnerable in the community. Mrs. Ondryas message helped students connect more deeply with the cause and understand the real-world significance of their efforts.
The partnership between St. Margaret’s Episcopal School and St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church with FAM Walk is more than just an annual event, it is about two communities working together to support families in need. The grade 3 students’ leadership helped rally strong support from across campus. This year, the team grew to 78 members and collectively raised more than $9,000.
The walk itself was a celebration of unity, drawing families, teachers, and even both Lower School principals to lace up their shoes for the cause.
