St. Margaret’s Band Performs National Anthem at Angel Stadium

In a moment of pride and celebration, Middle and Upper School students from the St. Margaret’s School Band took center field at Angel Stadium, delivering a stirring performance of the National Anthem.
In a moment of pride and celebration, 42 students from the St. Margaret’s School Band took center field at Angel Stadium last week, delivering a stirring performance of the National Anthem ahead of the Los Angeles Angels’ matchup against the Kansas City Royals.

“Playing the National Anthem for the Angels is such a unique experience that not everyone gets to have,” said Band Director Chris Carbajal. “One of the highlights was watching Mike Trout warm up just a few yards away- the kids were pointing with excitement.”

Mr. Carbajal documented the experience through a pair of Ray-Ban Meta glasses with a camera, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the experience from his perspective that was shared on St. Margaret’s social media channels.

Tartan musicians have performed the national anthem at the Angels game several times over the years, and it proves a memorable experience in their musical development as they play live in front of thousands in an outdoor stadium environment.
