Tartan Boys Volleyball Through to Semifinals With 3-0 Win
St. Margaret's defeated Wiseburn Da Vinci in the quarterfinals Wednesday.
St. Margaret's boys volleyball program advanced to the CIF-SS Div. III Semifinal, defeating Wiseburn Da Vinci 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 27-25) on the road Wednesday evening.
The Tartans relied on team blocking to down a talented Wolves squad. Aidan McMahon led with 5 of the 10 Tartan blocks to keep Da Vinci on the back foot all match. The Wolves rallied in the third set but were quickly contained by the Tartans' key plays and tenacious defense.
Reed Wainwright led in scoring with 24 kills, followed by Beckett Harvey with 9 and Luke Balint with 7. Balint also contributed a team-high 13 digs. Caden Isola had another strong service game with one ace and zero errors in 16 serves.
St. Margaret's is set to face 23-12 Long Beach Poly at home on Saturday, May 4 at 6 p.m.
