The Tartans traveled to Claremont and came away with an important league win.
The Tartans defeated league opponent The Webb Schools, 4-1, in Claremont on Tuesday evening. The win puts St. Margaret's at 4-0-1 in league competition.
The Tartans had multiple scoring opportunities early in the match, but did not find the net until Marcelo Cruz-Sanchez buried a 25-yard shot to open the scoring. Hayden Mann put the Tartans up 2-0 with five minutes to play in the first half on a free kick that resulted in a Gael own-goal.
The second half was more of the same, with Hughie Eaton capitalizing off a great pass from Matt Groeninger, heading the ball past the Webb keeper. Groeninger again contributed with 25 minutes left to play, sending in a beautiful cross for Ronin McMahon to slot in for the final Tartan goal of the evening.
St. Margaret's next faces league rival Sage Hill School on Tartan Field on Thursday, Jan. 27 at 6 p.m.
