Tuition and Financial Aid

All tuition and fees listed are for the 2020-2021 school year. You may expect a modest increase in tuition and fees for the 2021-2022 school year. Whether a child is re-enrolling or entering St. Margaret's for the first time, a non-refundable deposit fee is required to guarantee a place in the school. The balance of the tuition is due in payments on May 31 and November 30.

In addition, St. Margaret's Episcopal School requires participation in the Tuition Refund Plan underwritten by the Commercial Union Insurance Company, Boston, MA, for A.W. G. Dewar, Inc. The plan costs approximately 0.9% of tuition and protects the educational investment of the family should a student not complete the school year for any reason. The Tuition Refund Plan premium is included in the cost of tuition.

St. Margaret’s has established a strong Emergency Financial Aid program to support families deeply affected by the COVID-19 crisis. All families interested in applying for need-based Emergency Financial Aid may submit applications throughout the spring and summer months of 2020.  Please follow all application steps listed below.

Financial Aid

Financial aid enables St. Margaret's Episcopal School to bring students of varying backgrounds to its campus. $3.3 million of need-based financial assistance was awarded for the 2019-2020 school year. Students whose families who are unable to afford the full tuition cost of St. Margaret's are encouraged to apply for admission. After admission decisions are made, financial aid awards are considered and offered to families who demonstrate financial need. In addition St. Margaret’s has established an Emergency Financial Aid program to help families significantly impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.
St. Margaret's is a member of School and Student Services for Financial Aid (SSS). SSS uses national methodology to calculate a family's financial need. This methodology assists St. Margaret's in determining a family's financial ability to contribute towards the cost of tuition. The Financial Aid Committee carefully evaluates the income and assets of each family applying for aid and awards financial assistance according to demonstrated need.
All need-based financial aid awards are reviewed and recalculated each year. Families are asked to re-submit updated financial aid information and annual tax information. Please know, St. Margaret's does not offer sports or arts scholarships.
