Tartans Shock Edison 14-8 in Girls Lacrosse First Round

St. Margaret's jumped out to an early lead over the Chargers on Thursday.
St. Margaret's girls lacrosse opened the CIF-SS Div. I postseason with an 14-8 win over host Edison High School on Thursday evening.

The Tartans kept Edison off the scoreboard for the entire first half behind the spectacular goalkeeping of Kaitlin McRae. Dominating at the center circle, St. Margaret's won 19 out of 25 draw controls to keep Edison under pressure all game.

Mackenzie Farley notched 7 goals and 1 assist, while adding 12 draw controls and 3 ground balls in the win. Grace Burke (3g, 2gb), Greta Blau (2g, 1a) and Scarlett Welsome (1g, 2a) paced the Tartan attack.

The Tartans will next face 15-1 Marlborough School in the quarterfinals of the CIF-SS Div. I Playoffs at home on Saturday, April 4 at 3:30 p.m.
