Tartans Girls Basketball Overwhelms Costa Mesa 66-16

St. Margaret's improves to 6-1 in South Coast League Play.
St. Margaret's girls basketball program rolled to a 66-16 win over Costa Mesa High School Thursday. With the win, the No. 20 in Orange County and No. 2 In CIF-SS Div. IIIA Tartans take a 6-1 league record into the final half of the regular season.
 
Harper Gideons tied a St. Margaret's record for 3-pointers in a single game with 7 made en route to a 27-point night. St. Margaret's shooters were on fire all evening with 14 3-point shots made; Gideons (7-3pt, 27 pts), Lila Wohlgemuth (5-3pt, 17pts), Taylor Francois (1-3pt, 11pts) and Cailyn Fisher (1-3pt).
 
"We are getting healthy and starting to play well at the right time of the season as we quickly approach the playoffs," said head coach Josh Markum. "The next two weeks will provide great challenges and opportunities for us to refine things before February."
 
The Tartans will take on Santa Ana High School at home on Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 5:30 p.m.
