Dan O'Shea Named Head Football Coach at St. Margaret's
O'Shea brings 26 years of coaching experience to the Tartans.
St. Margaret's Episcopal School is pleased to announce today's appointment of Dan O'Shea as the school's next head football coach.
O'Shea has served as head football coach at Corona del Mar for the last eight seasons, guiding the Sea Kings to an 80-18 record, including a CIF state 1A championship in 2019. Prior to his tenure as head coach, O'Shea was Corona del Mar's defensive coordinator during a stretch where the Sea Kings went 50-6 and won three CIF championships.
In total, O'Shea has 26 years of coaching experience, including time at St. Anthony High School, St. John Bosco, Long Beach Wilson and Trabuco Hills.
Coach O'Shea's appointment is very exciting for St. Margaret's. His track record of success speaks for itself, but what's more impressive is that it's the byproduct of a program with strong core values and high personal character expectations.
"It is an honor to be selected as the next head football coach at St. Margaret's Episcopal School," O'Shea said. "The football program is blessed with a rich tradition as one of California's winningest high school teams over the last 20 years. I can't wait to lead the 2023 version of the Tartans."
"I am confident that coach O'Shea will continue to propel our football program forward, bridging success on the field with the development of high-quality citizens off the field," said St. Margaret's Executive Director of Community Health and Athletics, Patrick Bendzick.
