St. Margaret’s Orchestra Students Attend Harry Potter Concert at Segerstrom

The concert was a way to introduce students to the artistry and sounds of a live symphony orchestra.
St. Margaret’s orchestra students recently had a special day of enrichment last weekend, as they watched the Pacific Symphony’s performance of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in concert at Segerstrom Hall.

The concert presented the first movie of the Harry Potter series while a live orchestra performed John Williams’ famous score. About 25 St. Margaret’s orchestra students grades 4-12 and their families attended, along with St. Margaret’s orchestra director Linling Hsu.

“The concert was a great way to introduce students to the artistry and lush sounds of a live symphony orchestra, and for them to see these talented musicians play their instruments in such mesmerizing unity and concentration,” Ms. Hsu said. “Truly, the music was the biggest star of all.”
