The performance was set in a Parisian café style atmosphere with tables, delicious charcuterie and warm beverages.
Performing vocal, instrumental, spoken word and dance numbers under the night sky, St. Margaret’s Coffeehouse Cabaret returned to a live in-person performance, captivating crowds over two shows on the Nolet Amphitheater stage.

The performance was set in a Parisian café style atmosphere with tables, delicious charcuterie and warm beverages from the coffee and hot chocolate bar. The event featured 27 Upper School students in 21 pieces, adapting performances from a wide variety of genres and in several cases writing and producing their own original work.

The performers were complemented wonderfully by the Coffeehouse Cabaret House Band, led by St. Margaret’s Band Director Chris Carbajal and featuring Upper School students Sam Katz, Trey Kingsley and Gavin Ashman. Upper School student Andrew Ashman served as master of ceremony.

Mr. Carbajal introduced a new method of musical collaboration at the event, influenced by his years playing professionally.

“We started using in-ear monitors, tracks and click/cues at Coffeehouse Cabaret,” Mr. Carbajal said. “This is exactly what professionals do in Hollywood and we are doing it at the high school level.”

St. Margaret’s would like to thank all of the students and parent volunteers, especially Anoosheh Gerayli and Danielle Fox, as well as the PTF Arts Alliance and the PTF Arts Alliance Chair Jennifer Blau.
