St. Margaret's Student-Athletes Commit to Top Colleges and Universities During Spring Signing Period

Three talented student-athletes from the Class of 2021 committed to continue their academic careers and play intercollegiate athletics during the spring signing period.
St. Margaret's Episcopal School is pleased to announce that three student-athletes from the Class of 2021 have committed to play intercollegiate athletics next year during the spring National Signing period. Seniors Shane Dzwilewski, Calvin Capelle and Claire Mullen will continue their academic pursuits, as well as play their respective sport, at an impressive group of colleges and universities.
 
These student-athletes join three of their classmates who committed during the signing period in the winter.
 
Shane Dzwilewski, Bellarmine University
 
Shane Dzwilewski, a two-year captain on the Tartan lacrosse team, has committed to study and play lacrosse at NCAA Division-I Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky.
 
Shane is a member of the Tartans' 2019 U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section Championship team and a 2019 All-CIF LAcrosse first-team selection. Shane has also been a three-year, two-way starter and senior captain for St. Margaret's football team.
 
Shane volunteers his time working with younger children in the classroom and on the lacrosse field.
 
Shane plans on majoring in finance and business at Bellarmine.
 
Calvin Capelle, Bates College
 
Calvin Capelle, who has been running competitively since the age of six, has committed to study and run cross country and track & field at NCAA Division-III Bates College in Lewiston, Maine.
 
Calvin, a four-year member of the Tartan cross country and track & field programs, and is a 2018 CIF State and Southern Section team champion in cross country. Calvin is also a member of St. Margaret's 2018 and 2019 league champion cross country squads. Calvin has also participated in the soccer and surf programs at St. Margaret's and has earned multiple All-American designations in cross country and track through his elementary and middle school years.
 
In the classroom, Calvin boasts an impressive string of Head of School Honors every semester of his Upper School academic career.
 
Calvin has been involved with local junior lifeguard programs in his free time, volunteered for the Ladera Ranch Public Library and is an active fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
 
Claire Mullen, University of Puget Sound
 
Claire Mullen, a member of the Tartans' 2018 and 2019 CIF Championship cross country squads, has committed to study and run cross country and track & field at NCAA Division-III University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wa.
 
Claire's accomplishments as a runner include being named the 2018 Academy League Runner of the Year, First-Team All-League in 2018 and the San Joaquin League 800m Champion in 2019. Claire was also a member of St. Margaret's 2018 second place and 2019 third place CIF State Cross Country Finalist teams.
 
Claire volunteers her time with the Sea Scouts and as a sailing instructor and camp counselor.
 
Claire intends on majoring in exercise science and physical therapy at Puget Sound.
