Dan Berman, head strength and conditioning coach for the St. Margaret's athletic program, has been named the National High School Strength Coach Association Pacific Region Coach of the Year. Berman, entering his fifth year at St. Margaret's, is responsible for strength training, conditioning and athletic progress monitoring for Upper and Middle School athletic programs and personal wellness and physical fitness programs. Along with his coaching and training duties, Berman manages and maintains the school's weight room and training grounds and implements advanced training regimens for both teams and individual athletes.
"Coach Berman is a true servant to all of our student-athletes. He has created programs that serve to develop the overall performance of our athletes, and built relationships that allow him to help each student maximize their ability," said Upper School Director of Athletics Chris Nordstrom. "In these past five months, he has also helped us develop a plan to train athletes under our current pandemic conditions and has been instrumental in the creation of our new weight room."
The National High School Strength Coach Association provides professional development opportunities for all high school strength and conditioning coaches via state clinics, regional and national conferences, newsletters, and technology-based educational resources. The NHSSCA is committed to connecting professionals through innovative methods of sharing the experience of the strength and conditioning profession. The association's mission is to educate, equip, and empower coaches to make a positive impact on student-athletes' lives.
