St. Margaret's Girls Basketball Downs Orange High 28-20

The Tartans picked up an early-season road win.
The Tartan girls basketball team defeated Orange High School 28-20 to notch a road victory on Dec. 10. St. Margaret's improved to 3-6 with the win.

The Tartans were led by Jackie Mok and Mandy Taylor's tenacious play under the boards, each recording double-digit rebounds. Point guard Tiana Pavia controlled the tempo throughout the game while Alice Korolev and Mary Smith sunk big shots to widen the Tartans' lead as Orange made a late fourth-quarter run.

"The girls are improving each game, and it is great to see our young players progress," said head coach Nicole Riscica. "Our upperclassmen continue to take a leadership role on and off the court, which in turn is building a stronger team."

The Tartans return to the hardwood on Thursday, Dec. 12 to take on Mission Viejo High School in the Pasternack Field House. Tip-off is set for 4:30 p.m.
