Tartans Garner Postseason Lacrosse Accolades, Groeninger Named OCVarsity Athlete of the Year

St. Margaret's once again dominated the All-County awards.
After securing the 2019 U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section Championships, members of St. Margaret's lacrosse programs have been recognized among the best of the best in Orange County lacrosse.

OCVarsity Boys Lacrosse Athlete of the Year: Kevin Groeninger

Groeninger capped off an exemplary high school career, nabbing Athlete of the Year honors for the second consecutive year. Groeninger amassed 411 career points on 206 goals and 205 assists, making him the all-time leading scorer in California history. Groeninger will take his talents to Bryant University in the fall.

Groeninger and Pollard combined their talents to guide St. Margaret's to its first Southern Section title since 2015 and the duo have been recognized as Orange County Players of the Year. Groeninger's 60 goals in the 2019 season were made possible in large part to Pollard's domination at the face-off x. Pollard produced for the Tartans an incredible 385 face-off wins out of 472 attempts (81.6%), keeping St. Margaret's in possession of the ball for the majority of games played. Pollard has committed to The College of the Holy Cross.
