Tartan Girls Volleyball Outlasts Sage Hill in Thrilling 3-2 Win

St. Margaret's battled the Lightning last night at home.
St. Margaret's girls volleyball program notched a crucial league win last night, defeating visiting Sage Hill School 3-2 in Pasternack Field House.

The Tartans showed excellent resiliency after going up two matches before Sage Hill came roaring back and leveled it at 2-2. St. Margaret's had to dig deep and pulled out a close 16-14 win in the final frame. Scrappy and timely defense kept the Lightning's tall outside hitters contained all evening.

Sami Duran was a highlight for the Tartans, notching 22 kills on 58 attempts with a solid efficiency rating of 293%. Elena Wang added 14 kills while Chloe Wainwright and Arianne Bruckner added 7 kills each. Wang, Ella Bertolino and Sarah MacDonald strung together impressive service runs to edge the Tartans over the top.

The Tatans will next face league foe Laguna Beach on the road on September 23.
