Tartan Girls Volleyball Downs Wolverines 3-1

St. Margaret's picked up a non-league win against Aliso Niguel Wednesday.
St. Margaret's girls volleyball program notched a home non-league win Wednesday evening, defeating Aliso Niguel High School 3-1.
 
The Tartans enjoyed great production out of their middle attack with a combined 10 kills on 23 attempts, no errors. Arianne Bruckner - 6 kills on 11 attempts (.545); Serena Torrance - 4 kills on 12 attempts (.333) led for St. Margaret's. Ella Massoudi rounded out the attack with 18 kills and hit a solid .280.
 
Another strong team serving effort kept the Wolverines on the back foot, with 14 aces and only 5 errors on 95 attempts (95% efficient). Sarah MacDonald was stellar with 9 aces on 32 attempts with only 1 error (97% efficiency).
 
The Tartans' defensive effort was boosted with improved team blocking (6.5 total blocks) and solid floor defense (49 digs). Elena Wang had 14 blocks while Sarah MacDonald contributed 13.
 
St. Margaret's will next compete at the Dave Mohs OC Championships, Sept. 5-6 in Huntington Beach.
