St. Margaret's Football Sinks Argonauts 35-7

With the win, the Tartans improve to 2-2 in the Kappa League.
The Tartan Football team defeated hosts Garden Grove 35-7 Thursday night to move to 2-2 in league play. The win puts St. Margaret's in third place, setting up a showdown with No. 4 Westminster on Oct. 30.
 
Quarterback Kai Letcher led the offense for the Tartans, completing 11-of-14 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown as well as a rushing score over the Argonauts. Jack Kleinhanzl (4 rec, 26 yds, 1 TD) hauled in a 29-yard TD strike from Letcher to open the scoring early for the Tartans. Running back Sebastian Salazar (14 car, 78 yds, 1 TD) broke it open for St. Margaret's mid-way through the third quarter with a four-yard rushing touchdown.
 
Defensively, the Tartans were tough to contain all evening. Sebastian Salazar dominated both sides of the ball, recording 19 total tackles, while Jack Klausner followed close behind with 15 and added an interception for a score as well. Sam Ludlum notched a 70-yard pick six to put the game out of reach of Garden Grove.
 
The 5-4 Tartans will wrap up the regular season with a crucial matchup against 3-5 Westminster on the road next Thursday.
