St. Margaret's Girls Volleyball Picks Up First League Win with 3-0 Victory over Rosary

The Tartans relied on precise serve and receive play to see off the Royals.
The Tartan Girls Volleyball program started its league campaign on the right foot with a 3-0 blanking of the visiting Rosary Academy Royals Thursday night.

Ella Massoudi led St. Margaret's with 17 kills, followed closely by Arianne Bruckner's 15 kills out of the middle. Bruckner hit an exceptional .519 on the night. 

Elin Barnett had a solid all-around performance after entering a stalled second set, producing 1 ace with 9 digs and a solid passing rating of 2.1. Malak Laraki rounded out the Tartans' production with 6 kills on 13 attempts, hitting .308.

Serve and serve receive continue to anchor St. Margaret's performance. Serving efficiency was 94% with 11 aces against only 4 errors. Team passing average was a strong 2.2, anchored by Sarah MacDonald at 2.6, who also had a team-leading 23 digs. 

The Tartans will next take on non-league foe Crean Lutheran on the road on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
