Tartan Surf Program Battles Laguna Beach in San Clemente

Difficult conditions challenged both teams last weekend.
St. Margaret's surf team had a strong showing against an undefeated Laguna Beach squad this past weekend at the San Clemente Pier.

Surfing to a close finish, St. Margaret's delivered several key performances and advanced to the individual finals despite challenging tides and small waves. In shortboard competition, Brendan Lyons, Gareth Thomas, Colt Ettwein, Ry O'Hill and Chloe Eskander turned in standout performances to advance to the finals. Logan Cuda, Marcus Vojtus and Annika Tufo earned spots in the longboard division finals, capping off a strong showing for the team.

Top individual finishers included Sawyer Collins, who placed 4th in the bodyboard division, Brendan Lyons with a 2nd-place finish in shortboard, Chloe Eskander, who earned 3rd place in shortboard, and Annika Tufo, who finished 6th in longboard.

The Tartans will close out the competition series on January 24 at 9th Street, Huntington Beach.
