St. Margaret's girls golf program downed league giant University High School in a 178-179 upset win Tuesday at Strawberry Farms Golf Club.
The Tartans shot 2-under par as a team, marking St. Margaret's best performance of the season. Annie Weng (31, -5) and Jessica Liu (32, -4) combined for an outstanding 9-under par to lead the Tartans. Nicole Wang had a stellar day, shooting a 36 (+0) while Viv Zhai (38, +2) and Savannah Zhou (41, +5) rounded out the Tartans' qualifying scores.
The Tartans (6-1, 1-1 in league) will next face Northwood High School on Oct. 9. St. Margaret's will look to avenge a 188-175 loss to the Timberwolves earlier in the month.
