St. Margaret's is pleased to announce the appointment of Kacey Norwood as interim head coach of the Tartans girls lacrosse program.

Norwood has been an assistant coach of the Tartans for the past year, helping guide St. Margaret's to its first CIF postseason title since 2019 in the spring of 2025. Prior to her time with the Tartans, Norwood coached at Chantilly High School and Super Nova Lacrosse Club, both in the state of Virginia.

"I’m excited to step into the interim head coach role and continue supporting this amazing group of girls that I already believe in," said coach Norwood. "I’m looking forward to a great season full of growth and success.”

Norwood competed in lacrosse for NCAA Div. I Longwood University, serving as team captain and leading the Lancers to a third-place Big South Conference finish in 2014. Norwood led the Lancers in points, goals, shots on goal and caused turnovers, and was named to the 2014 All-Big South Conference First Team and 2014 Big South Conference Women's Lacrosse Championship All-Tournament Team. Norwood also garnered many Big South Player of the Week honors and was named a 2014 Virginia Sports Information Directors University Division Women's Lacrosse All-State Team honoree.

At the high school level, Norwood was a four-year letterman at Chantilly High. Her high school career culminated with First-Team All-District and All-Region honors, Washington Post Second-team All-Metro honors as well as being named Concorde District Player of the Year. Norwood was a U.S. Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention her senior year.

Norwood holds a Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Diversity and Exceptionality from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Elementary Education from Longwood University. Norwood currently serves as a teacher in the Orange Unified School District.

"St. Margaret’s is thrilled to welcome Kacey Norwood as our new interim head coach for girls' lacrosse," said St. Margaret's Director of Athletics Dan O'Shea. "Kacey brings a strong vision, deep knowledge of the game, and a commitment to developing our student-athletes both on and off the field. We are confident she will provide outstanding leadership for our program and continue to elevate the tradition of excellence at St. Margaret’s."
