Welcome to the admission page of the St. Margaret's Episcopal School website! Thank you for considering St. Margaret's. We look forward to getting to know you and sharing information about our admission process. Staying in close communication with us and visiting campus are the best ways to become familiar with our friendly, close-knit all school community.
The mission at St. Margaret's Episcopal School is to educate the hearts and minds of young people for lives of learning, leadership and service. This mission drives all of our programs and creates the strong, positive school environment that is St. Margaret's. From early childhood to senior year we place special emphasis on maintaining a school culture dedicated to thoughtful, moral integrity and academic challenge. As you consider options for Preschool through Grade 12, we invite you to learn more about us by exploring this website, downloading our Viewbook, and scheduling a visit to our campus while classes are in session. We also encourage you to peruse the latest edition of our online community newsletter, Tartan Today, for additional information about campus life at St. Margaret's.
Identifying a school that is the best fit for a child, one that will provide the best intellectual, artistic, athletic and spiritual growth, can be a challenging task. We look forward to helping you navigate this process. Please don't hesitate to contact us if we may be helpful to you in any way.
We hope to see you on campus!
Warm Wishes,

Admission Philosophy

St. Margaret's Episcopal School seeks students of exemplary character who demonstrate the ability to thrive in an academically demanding program, who show potential for engagement in leadership and service opportunities, and whose parents' goals align with those of the school. The Admission Committee evaluates each applicant on a variety of factors, including academic records from current schools, student and parent questionnaires, recommendations from current teachers, interviews and performance on standardized assessments. Children applying to Preschool, Kindergarten and grade 1 participate in a developmental screening and playgroup. In all divisions, the admission process is rooted in finding the best match between prospective families and St. Margaret's Episcopal School.
Special consideration is given to qualified siblings of current St. Margaret's students and children of faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the Episcopal Church. As with all admission decisions, the match between the student and St. Margaret's is of primary importance.

Non Discrimination Policy

St. Margaret's Episcopal School does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, color, religion, sexual orientation or national and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational, admission, financial aid, hiring and athletic policies or in other school-administered programs.
