MS/US Winter Dance Concert
The Middle School/Upper School Winter Dance Concert featured more than 50 students. The program included 20 dances, several of which were choreographed by students and others by dance faculty and collaborations between teachers and students. Always a crowd favorite, “Sleigh Ride” featured 15 tap-dancing sixth graders in reindeer costumes. A special added feature to this year’s concert was the snow that fell on the stage during the Rockette-inspired performance to “Let It Snow.”
Among the performances were solo dances by sophomore Christine Kao, senior Elyse Bryant, sophomore Claire Sele, senior Kayla Leahy, sophomore Camellia Thomas and grade 6 student Maggie Wang.
Preschool and Lower School students in the St. Margaret’s Dance Conservatory demonstrated the techniques they have practiced this fall in a variety of performances that included holiday-themed dances. The informal sharing featured ballet, jazz/tap and hip-hop, and featured more than 150 students.
