Mother Nature quickly put an end to Friday's game, but not before the Tartans produced two touchdowns.
The atmospheric show matched the thunder and lighting on the field as the Tartans put up two scores in three minutes to go up 14-0 over Southlands Christian. Unfortunately, dangerous weather conditions cut the game short with about nine minutes left in the first quarter, forcing the game to be canceled, resulting in a St. Margaret's win.
Oddly enough, the Tartan victory came about with St. Margaret's never playing an offensive down. It was all Alex Smith, as he returned the opening kickoff 78 yards for a touchdown followed by a 55-yard interception return for a touchdown on the Eagles' next possession. Kicker Chris Vartanian added both PAT's to put the Tartans ahead before lightning ended the game.
The game is not scheduled to be replayed and gives the Tartans their first league win on the year. St. Margaret's will take on The Webb School at home on Friday, October 19 at 7 p.m.
