Tartans Overcome SVCS and Raise Awareness for Breast Cancer

It took five games, but the Tartans defeated a surging Saddleback Valley Christian squad 3-2 (25-21, 25-16, 23-25, 16-25, 15-5) on Tuesday night in the Pasternack Field House. St. Margaret's also hosted a Pink Out, raising more than $500 to be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

St. Margaret's relied on Gracyn Benck's 26 kills and two aces to put away a scrappy Saddleback Christian team. Emmy Flornes (15 kills) and Liv Hale were cagey (14 kills) at the net while Lily Thomas, Jalyn Chun, Mary Collier, Tatum Westendorf and Serena Carson were solid all-around.

The Tartans will take a 4-2 league record into its home match against Capistrano Valley Christian Thursday, Oct. 4. at 5 p.m.
