Blake Stevenson Honored as Best Comic Actor at Cappies

It is the second consecutive year that Blake has won a Cappie for his performances in a St. Margaret’s musical.
St. Margaret’s senior Blake Stevenson was recognized by the Orange County Cappies this week, being named best comic actor in a musical for his performance as Aldolpho in the Upper School musical The Drowsy Chaperone. It is the second consecutive year that Blake has won a Cappie for his performances in a St. Margaret’s musical.

Blake was honored at the Cappies Critics and Awards Program, which took place last weekend at The Grove of Anaheim. In addition to the awards, there were several performances at the gala, including St. Margaret’s students performing an excerpt from The Drowsy Chaperone.

The Cappies is a national writing and awards program that promotes and recognizes excellence in writing, performance, design and technical disciplines. High school theater and journalism students are trained to attend and constructively critique local high school productions. Local publications publish the top reviews, and toward the end of the school year more than 200 student critics vote on the reviewed shows.

The 2018 Cappies Nominees and Commendees reception was hosted by St. Margaret’s last week, welcoming nearly 500 students and families from more than 25 schools across Orange County to campus.
