Boys Lacrosse are Champions after Double Overtime Finals Victory

St. Margaret's erased a four-goal deficit in the fourth quarter to tie the game before Trevor Peay scored in the second overtime period to defeat Foothill High School 12-11 in the U.S. Lacrosse Orange County Championship.
The Tartan offense had to scratch for every goal against the Knights, who led the majority of the game with a stifling defense and shifty attack play. Foothill held the advantage until Garrett Kuntz capped off a four-goal Tartan scoring run with the game-tying goal with five minutes remaining in regulation. Two overtime periods passed with no score before Trevor Peay pulled in a beautiful feed from Garrett Kuntz at X to bury it in the back of the net to down the Knights and lay claim to the U.S. Lacrosse Orange County Championship.
The Tartans were led by Garrett Kuntz (four goals and two assists), Trevor Peay (four goals and one assist) and Kevin Groeninger (two goals and two assists). Andy Shin and John Edington each notched a goal while Michael Chew added an assist. Zane Handy had 15 saves to allow that tartans to crawl back into the game.
When asked about his game-winning goal, Tournament MVP Trevor Peay said, "It's an awesome feeling and I owe a lot of that to my teammates. They give it all that they can and are always pushing me to be better and tonight that showed in the result."
