St. Margaret's Episcopal School is pleased to announce that senior student-athletes Ryan Cragun, Nicole Greuel, Trevor Peay, Emily Suh and Cailin Young will continue their academic pursuits, as well as play their respective sport at an impressive group of colleges and universities.
Ryan Cragun, University of Pennsylvania
Ryan Cragun, a 2017 football team captain, will compete for NCAA Division I FCS University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Ryan, a 2016 All-CIF and All-Orange County selection in football, currently sits at No. 5 in Orange County for receiving yards with 1,245 on 69 receptions.
At St. Margaret's Ryan also competes for the basketball (team captain and first team All-Academy League in 2017) and track & field (first team All-Academy league) programs.
Ryan intends on majoring in business at the University of Pennsylvania.
Nicole Greuel, Rhodes College
Nicole Greuel will play softball at NCAA Division-III Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn.
Nicole plays for Team Easton, Ranked No. 5 in California and No. 11 in the country, and has participated in the TCS Softball World Series, ESPN Nationals, ASA Nationals, and the Diamond 9 Tournament, the largest college softball showcase in the nation.
At St. Margaret's, Nicole was a member of the Tartan volleyball and soccer squads and is a four-year manager for the varsity baseball program. Nicole is also a member of the St. Margaret's Peer Counselor program and has volunteered at Special Camp for Special Kids. Nicole is actively involved in her church, where she is on the Student Leadership Committee and working with special needs children through the Glenwood Special Needs Home.
Nicole intends to major in business with an emphasis in management at Rhodes College.
Trevor Peay, Marquette University
Trevor Peay, a four-year starter for the Tartans, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play lacrosse for NCAA Division-I Marquette University in Milwaukee.
Trevor, a member of the 2015 U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section Champion Tartan lacrosse team, broke the lineup as a freshman and led the team in scoring his sophomore year. Trevor was named first-team All-Trinity League his sophomore year and honorable mention his freshman year. On the soccer pitch, Trevor was the leading scorer for the Tartans his freshman and sophomore years.
Outside of athletics, Trevor volunteers at a summer camp for at-risk youth, is an admissions ambassador for St. Margaret's and is a member of the famed student cheering section "The Kitchen."
Trevor intends to major in business economics at Marquette.
Emily Suh, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
Emily Suh, a lacrosse team captain, will compete in lacrosse for NCAA Division-II Embry-Riddle University in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Emily volunteers at St. Edwards Catholic Church and for Laura's House, a shelter for domestic violence victims.
Emily intends to major in aerospace engineering and minor in applied mathematics at Embry-Riddle.
Cailin Young, San Diego State University
Cailin Young, a 2017 and 2018 team captain, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play lacrosse at NCAA Division-I San Diego State University in San Diego.
At St. Margaret's, Cailin was named a U.S. Lacrosse All-American and first team All-Orange County in 2017. On the soccer field, Cailin will serve as a team captain for her senior year and was selected to the second team All-Academy League team in 2016.
Cailin has also represented Orange County as a member of the lacrosse National Tournament team in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
Cailin has volunteered with Special Camp for Special Kids.
“High School programs flourish when the athletes establish that this is not the last stop in the journey. The hard work and sacrifice this group has made to attain this goal sends a tremendous message to their teammates. It elevates the expectations of a program and creates a lasting legacy that we are very proud of,” said St. Margaret's Director of Athletics Patrick Bendzick.
