Tartan Tee-Off Raises $175,000 for Financial Aid

The event included a lunch, 18 holes of golf, a 19th-hole networking reception, dinner and an awards presentation featuring remarks by Francelia Lievano '16, who spoke to guests about her experience at St. Margaret’s as a financial aid recipient.
The Tartan Tee-Off presented by the Kao Family Foundation welcomed 120 players, volunteers, staff and committee members to a full day of events at El Niguel Country Club on Monday. The annual St. Margaret’s golf tournament raised nearly $175,000 in support of need-based student financial aid.

The event included a lunch, 18 holes of golf, a 19th-hole networking reception, dinner and an awards presentation featuring remarks by Francelia Lievano '16. She spoke to guests about her experience at St. Margaret’s as a financial aid recipient, attributing her opportunity for success as a Pitzer College student to the generosity of donors like those at the Tee-Off.

Following the tournament, golfers met up at the 19th-hole networking reception sponsored by Jay and Kelly Jacobs which included dinner and awards program. Among those honored were:

Overall Women’s – 1st Place: Michelle Cox, Joyce Lee, Emily Maxey ’95, Christy Miele

Longest Drive: Tim McElfish / Emily Maxey '95
Putting Contest: Kolin Ozonian '02

The evening concluded with donors generously contributing to a Fund A Need in support of student financial aid, anchored by more than 30 generous donors.
