Tartans Performed, Honored at Spirit of the MACY Awards

St. Margaret's performed at the awards ceremony, and 20 Tartans were recognized for their work.
Upper School students from the cast of the St. Margaret’s production of Children of Eden participated in the 47th annual Spirit of the MACY Awards, held at Segerstrom Hall last week. This year, 58 high school musical productions were adjudicated by the MACY judges. St. Margaret’s was one of the productions selected to perform at the awards ceremony.
 
The MACY Awards, short for Music and Arts Commendation for Youth, have been awarded to Southern California performing arts students since 1969. MACY directors and judges attend shows in Orange, San Diego, Riverside and Los Angeles counties to carefully select winners in a number of categories.  
 
This year, 20 Tartans received individual recognition at the awards ceremony:
 
Highest Achievement: Blake Stevenson, Daisy Sellas, Katherine Parrish, Tyler Ashman
Outstanding Achievement: Anneka Miller, Bryce Victor, Garrett Higgins
Achievement: Jaden Cloobeck
Special Recognition: Jack Westhead, Jacob Kuljis, Katherine Sele, Nathan Soto, Tyler Jones
Bright Spot: Alden Copps, Casey Healy, Lulu Arundale, Michaela Xu, Mitra Alikhani, Rylan Rodrigues-Zahn, Tyler Genevay
 
Two St. Margaret’s students also were named finalists for Individual Highest Achievement Awards in the following categories:
 
Best Female Vocalist: Katherine Parrish
Best Actor, Best Male Vocalist: Blake Stevenson
