Girls Volleyball Opens CIF Playoffs With Win

The Tartans defeated Calvary Chapel Santa Ana in three sets to move on to the second round of the CIF-SS playoffs.
St. Margaret's swept Calvary Chapel Santa Ana 25-22, 25-9 and 25-16 to advance to the second round of the CIF-Southern Section Division 5 playoffs. The Tartans were led by Erica Mendel with four aces and Kaitlin Kao with 12 kills. Tatum Westendorf (7 kills), Kyla Cruse (6 kills) and Gracyn Benck (6 kills) kept the Tartans well ahead of CC Santa Ana.

Defensively, Julia Martin led with 12 digs while Gracyn Benck and Annie Eales had 11 apiece.

The Tartans will face Culver City High School at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 3.
