McKinley McQuaide and Nicholas Williams Earn National Recognition in Scholastic Art Competition
Seniors McKinley McQuaide and Nicholas Williams have earned national recognition in the 2016 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. This year, nearly 320,000 works of art and writing were submitted. Only the top one percent were recognized at the national level.

McKinley received the National Gold Medal for her sculpture titled “The Consumer Collection.” Nick received the National Silver Medal for his sculpture titled “Nicholas Yin Yang.”
Since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have recognized teenagers from across the country. By receiving a Scholastic Art & Writing Awards National Medal, Mckinley and Nick join a legacy of celebrated authors and artists including Andy Warhol, Sylvia Plath, Truman Capote, Richard Avedon, Robert Redford, Lena Dunham and Ken Burns.
