St. Margaret’s Community Unites for Annual PTF Tartan Family Barbecue

The annual PTF Tartan Family Barbecue drew a record crowd, with families, students, and professional community gathering to kick off the evening’s festivities ahead of the much-anticipated Homecoming football game.
Last week, the St. Margaret’s community came together at Chalmers Field for the annual PTF Tartan Family Barbecue. The beloved tradition drew a record crowd, with families, students, and professional community gathering to kick off the evening’s festivities ahead of the much-anticipated Homecoming football game.

Guests enjoyed a mouthwatering barbecue feast, with tables brimming with brisket, hamburgers, garden burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, and coleslaw, courtesy of CulinArt. For dessert, Handel’s ice cream awaited at outdoor stations. The Sterling Silver Band's live music filled the air, adding a lively soundtrack as families and children played games.

A special highlight this year was the opportunity for families to tour the newly built Commons—the heart of the St. Margaret’s campus. Visitors marveled at the state-of-the-art facilities, including the impressive golf simulator room, which quickly became a crowd favorite.

In the evening, bagpipers and the St. Margaret’s cheer squad led the community from Chalmers Field to Tartan Field, rallying the crowd for the big game.

The PTF Tartan Family Barbecue remains a cherished tradition at St. Margaret’s, fostering connections and school pride. A heartfelt thank you to PTF event chair Meredith Curran and the many volunteers whose hard work and dedication made the evening a success.
