The Tartan football program coasted to a 49-14 win over visiting Capistrano Valley Christian Friday night.

 

Running back Sam Orellana accounted for 36 of the Tartans' points with 5 rushing touchdowns, 214 yards on the ground, and a receiving touchdown for good measure. Kai Letcher was 11 for 17 with 144 yards and 2 touchdowns at the quarterback spot, connecting with receivers Jack Kleinhanzl (3 catches, 40 yards, 1 TD) Sammy Grant-Lewis (2 catches, 42 yds). Charlie Allen (1 catch, 28 yards) and Patrick Bunnin (4 catches, 28 yards) rounded out St. Margaret's air attack.

 

Capistrano Valley, despite getting on the board first, could not do much against a persistent Tartan defensive unit. Reese Angelos led with 9 total tackles while Graham Holcomb (8 tackles) and Ozzie Heim (7 tackles, 1 punt defended) followed closely behind. Ethan Lavender (2 tackles) and Costa Canelos (4 tackles) each had a caused fumble with Sam Ludlum (3 tackles) notched a fumble recovery for the Tartans.

 

The undefeated Tartans will defend their 4-0 record against a visiting Laguna Hills on Friday, Sept. 25, at home.
