Tartan Flag Football Sneaks By University 14-13

St. Margaret's battled till the end to pull out the win.
St. Margaret's flag football program improved to 6-2 after a last-minute 14-13 win over hosts University High School this past Saturday.

The Tartans found themselves down 13-6 with less than a minute left to play before Ella Chin found Lola Berutich for a touchdown strike to get St. Margaret's within one point of the Trojans. On the ensuing 2-point attempt, Chin again found a streaking Aiyanna Brown for the conversion to put the Tartans in the lead with 30 seconds remaining. St. Margaret's defense held off University and secured the win.

Ella Chin finished with 185 yards on 23 completions and 2 passing TDs, which kept receivers Aiyanna Brown (6 catches, 64 yards, 1 TD, 1 2pt) and Lola Berutich (6 catches, 50 yards, 1 TD) busy all afternoon. Gia Fournier ( 6 catches, 29 yards, 1 int), Zoe Lauderdale (4 catches, 45 yards, 1 sack) and Ella Lancaster (1 int, 8 flag pulls) all had big days for the Tartans.

St. Margaret's will next take on Buena Park on the road Wednesday, August 26 at 6 p.m.
