All-School Closing Ceremony Honors Class of 2026, Blesses St. Margaret’s Commons to Finish Year

The student body celebrated the Class of 2026, blessed the St. Margaret’s Commons as it nears completion, and said farewell to a successful and memorable school year at the All-School Closing Ceremony.
St. Margaret’s Episcopal School had a festive final day of school this week, as the student body celebrated the Class of 2026, blessed the St. Margaret’s Commons as it nears completion, and said farewell to a successful and memorable school year.

The All-School Closing Ceremony brought the student body together one last time, but not before a ceremonial walk for the graduating Class of 2026. The 115 seniors took a final trip around St. Margaret’s campus as part of the Senior Send-Off, which started in the Early School and weaved through each division of campus before the senior class took their seats in Pasternack Field House to an adoring ovation.

The All-School Closing Ceremony was an opportunity to say farewell to the Class of 2026 as they prepare for their graduation from St. Margaret’s this weekend. Head of School Dr. Jeneen Graham announced the Class of 2026 class agents—Jack Klausner, Ella Kyle and Gavin Shams—who will partner with the alumni relations office to ensure their class stays connected to St. Margaret’s.

There was also three special school community awards given out by Dr. Graham:
  • Graduating senior Ross Johnson was honored with the David G. Boyle Lifetime Service Award, given to a lifetime Tartan student whose service and dedication to the school best reflects the extraordinary contributions of the late David Boyle, former Associate Head of School, Upper School Principal and Faculty Emeritus who worked at St. Margaret’s from 1980 to 2012.
  • Middle School dean and science teacher Kevin Estipular was honored with the Susan A. Remsberg Award, given annually to a member of the St. Margaret’s professional community for outstanding contributions and significant impact on the school community, exemplifying a profound commitment to St. Margaret’s mission and core values in the past year or recent years. Faculty emeritus Susan Remsberg was in attendance to present the award.
  • The Stacey Nicholas Inspire Award for Philanthropy was presented to a member of the school community who has demonstrated extraordinary generosity, vision and commitment to advancing the mission and programming of St. Margaret’s, while inspiring others to do the same. This year’s honor was posthumously awarded to parent of alumni Joan E. Jenkins.
The ceremony also honored members of the professional community who are either retiring or celebrating milestone anniversaries at the school. Wendy Romagnino-Perry, a longtime member of St. Margaret’s technology team, was named Professional Community Emeritus—the highest honor St. Margaret’s bestows on a member of the professional community. For her 32 years of service to St. Margaret’s, Mrs. Romagnino-Perry was honored with the traditional gift of a college chair with her years of service engraved on it.

After the All-School Closing Ceremony, the entire school community proceeded to Chalmers Field, where St. Margaret’s chaplains finished the school year by blessing the St. Margaret’s Commons, as it nears completion and is slated to open in time for the 2026-2027 school year.

Have a great summer, Tartans!
