Lower School Celebrates Health and Community Spirit During Annual Color Run

Lower School turned Chalmers Field into a vibrant celebration of movement, belonging, and Tartan pride during its third annual Color Run.
St. Margaret’s Lower School turned Chalmers Field into a vibrant celebration of movement, belonging, and Tartan pride during its third annual Color Run, an event inspired and led by kindergarten classrooms as part of their yearlong focus on Global Goal No. 3: Good Health and Wellbeing.

The event brought together students across the Lower School for a high-energy course of laps, cheers, and bursts of color representing the four House Leagues. As runners made their way around the field, they were greeted by teachers, classmates, and families—each wave of runners showcasing House League colors and a shared sense of unity across campus.

Parents joined the celebration by dressing in their children’s House colors and participating in spirited chants led by Lower School music teacher Zach Hanna, transforming the sidelines into an enthusiastic chorus of support. The Color Run concluded with a well-earned community treat of popsicles, a simple finish to an event defined by movement and joy.

The Lower School extended appreciation to kindergarten teachers Mara Balak, Gabriela Lopez, and Jessica Banks, along with personal fitness and wellness teachers Jennifer Cuda and Adam Doty, whose yearlong planning helped bring the Color Run to a sunny afternoon on campus.
