Lower School Celebrates Grandparents & Special Friends Day
The Lower School welcomed guests to campus last week for Grandparents and Special Friends Day–a morning of breakfast, student performances and classroom visits.
The Lower School welcomed close to 500 treasured guests to campus last week for Grandparents and Special Friends Day–a morning of breakfast, student performances and classroom visits, with the day revolving around the theme of “Brick by Brick - We Grow Together.”
Students began the morning with a special breakfast honoring grandparents and special friends in Pasternack Field House before gathering together for a service featuring student-led prayers, readings and musical performances. Lower School students took on leadership roles throughout the program, with students representing each Lower School grade participating in prayers and readings.
Musical performances by students in each grade level highlighted the celebration, as well as performances by the grade 4 and 5 orchestra. The program concluded with the grade 4 and 5 Choir performing “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman.
Guests then visited the classrooms to get a closer look at the everyday life of St. Margaret’s Lower School students.
Grandparents and Special Friends Day is a collaboration led by the Lower School administration, faculty, chaplains and the Advancement Office. Parent volunteers dedicated their time to helping make the event a huge success. Thank you to the parent volunteers, student ambassadors, faculty, staff and student performers for making the day a memorable one for the cherished members of the St. Margaret’s community.
