St. Margaret's improves to 2-2 with the win.
St. Margaret's girls basketball delivered a big 69-55 win against visiting Cypress High on Monday evening in Pasternack Field House.

Jayden Witten led the offensive effort for the Tartans, tallying 18 points, 4 assists and 5 rebounds, while Taylor Francois followed closely behind with 15 points, 4 assists and 8 rebounds to pace St. Margaret's past the Centurions. Lila Wohlgemuth (14 pts, 5 stl, 9 dfl) and Tilda Curran (13 pts, 14 reb) rounded out the scoring for the Tartans.

Guard Cailyn Fisher drew the Centurion's best player and kept her in check all evening. Fisher finished with 5 deflections and a steal on the night. Ana Cormac and Ivy Liu supported the Tartans off the bench in key situations.

"This was a big win for us as we go into Thanksgiving 2-2 with a banged-up roster," said head coach Josh Markum. "I am proud of the way our team has been able to overcome adversity to start the season. Dealing with injuries and illness can be tough to overcome, but we have played in competitive games and built our depth as a result. We should be in for a very productive December."

The Tartans will next take on Pacifica Christian Orange County at home on Tuesday, December 2.
