Tartan Football to Face Hillcrest in Home Playoff Tilt
St. Margaret's defeated Redlands East Valley 16-15 in the first round.
St. Margaret's football program advanced to the second round of the CIF-SS Postseason by downing Redlands East Valley in a 16-15 thriller this past Friday.
Sebastian Salazar had two rushing scores to keep the Tartans in control for the majority of the game. A back-and-forth battle culminated in a Tartan defensive effort to prevent Redlands from taking the lead late in the game. Nathan Smith notched an interception with 44 seconds left to play to seal the win for the Tartans.
The 7-4 Tartans will take on 6-5 Hillcrest in round two of the CIF-SS Div. X playoffs this Friday evening. Hillcrest dominated in a 41-14 win over Monrovia High School and looks to be a formidable opponent. St. Margaret's will host the Trojans on November 14 on Tartan Field.
