St. Margaret's Appoints Jonathan Hughes as Head Boys Basketball Coach

Hughes will assume the role effective immediately.
St. Margaret's Episcopal School is proud to announce today's appointment of Jonathan Hughes as the school's next head boys basketball coach.
 
Hughes has served as head girls basketball coach at Calvary Chapel Santa Ana for the past two seasons. Under Hughes' tenure, the Eagles tied a school record of 24 wins in the 22-23 season and a first-place Orange Coast League finish in the 22-23 and 23-24 seasons. Prior to his stint as Calvary Chapel's girls coach, Hughes led the boys program to a CIF-SS Championship in 2021 and two undefeated Orange Coast League Championships in 2020 and 2021. Hughes was named CIF-SS Coach of the Year in 2021 and Orange Coast League Coach of the Year in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Hughes boasts four 20-plus win seasons from 2020-2023. Alongside his coaching duties, Hughes has also served as Calvary Chapel's Athletic Director since 2016.
 
"We are thrilled to announce Jon Hughes as our new head boys basketball coach.  Jon brings a championship-level resume while being a top head coach in the Orange County high school basketball arena for more than 10 years," said St. Margaret's Director of Athletics Dan O'Shea. "We welcome Jon and his family to the Tartan school community and look forward to the work ahead, beginning with our summer basketball camps here at St. Margaret's."

I am very excited to meet the student-athletes and their families and to hit the ground running this summer," said coach Hughes. "I have a great passion for basketball and growing the game; I can't wait to get started, go Tartans!"
