Grade 5 Students Celebrate Final Days in Lower School With Traditional Red Sweater Toss

St. Margaret’s celebrated its grade 5 students this week with one of the Lower School’s favorite traditions.
St. Margaret’s celebrated its grade 5 students this week with one of the Lower School’s favorite traditions—the ceremonial tossing of the Lower School red sweaters after the final Chapel of the school year.

The celebratory event took place on the steps in front of the Darcy Rice Center for the Arts, adjacent to the Middle School they will soon call home. After a final Chapel honored the grade 5 students and their contributions to the Lower School, the Class of 2031 took a long route from the Chapel to Chalmers Field, passing by each Lower School grade as their parents and younger peers cheered them on.

After one last photo with their traditional Lower School red sweaters, the grade 5 students took them off and in unison tossed them into the air.

Congratulations to the students in the Class of 2031 as you celebrate this important milestone and prepare for Middle School!
